A big thanks to our neighbours Unnamalai amma, Selvi, Palani and darling Yugasri for always being there to share sunshine in joys, lend shoulder while in tears, food or shelter in rains or cyclones or depressions, babysitting or counseling - whichever is needed and a lot of other things small and big our grateful tears hold in warm memory.
Aspiration community says a HUGE thank you to Aurobanu and all the Aspiration members who helped him! Aurobanu spent this whole week rescuing the entire community.
We had many, many many of our huge old trees uprooted, branches shredded and shrewn all over. It was a humongous job to cut through, clean out and pile away so much distruction made by the cyclone. We morn the death of our trees but thank the Mother that miraculously no one was hurt.
I thank all my staff of Pour Tous purchasing service who came all three days during and after the cyclone and worked even on New Year Day so that we were able to shift from the old stall which was very badly damaged to the new stall, so that we could open for the people on Monday. My hearty thanks to Lakshmi, Kumar and Cristo who really put their heart and soul….

I'd seen the effects of a far devastating cyclone in my home state of Odisha in 1999, and what a philosopher-cop told me then still rings true for me in our present circumstances: "In times of a disaster like this, one sees both the best in human nature and the worst in human nature."
I'd like to applaud all the countless instances where Aurovilians have shown through the acts, the best of human nature.
