The next day after Surya Namaskar A has been performed, Surya Namaskar B is taught, and one then again concludes in the same method as the previous day, with Padmasana, deep breathing, and rest. After both of the Surya Namaskar have been learned correctly, each of the various asanas are added one by one. When one asana is correct, the next one is taught. Depending on the age and ability of the student, it can take anywhere upwards of 3 months to learn the primary series. From Monday to Friday: the format of the practice always remains the same; one always begins practice on his own with Surya Namaskar, concludes with Padmasana and rest, and the various asanas gradually fill the space between these two poles It is through the daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga that we draw it into ourselves, understand it.

![]() Every Thursday Open Heart Space Meditation is a simple practice of becoming aware of the reality as it is without judgement, interpretation or reaction, and settling into its vast luminous expanse. We learn to embrace and let go each experience as it arises and subsides. Eventually the mind falls silent and sinks into the open heart-space, a doorway to unity-consciousness, where the inner and outer worlds meet and merge. Along with meditation, there will be some mantra chanting, yoga, interactive dialogue, and whatever arises in the moment. Samrat grew up in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. He studied upto graduation in the Ashram School/College called Sri Aurobindo International Center of Education and also studied Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy. He has practiced meditation for the past 30 years. Offered meditation classes in Europe for the past 2 months.

Restorative Yoga classes are relaxing and slow paced; a whole session may consist of as few as five or six postures that are held for long periods of time. Props (including bolsters, blankets, blocks, and belts) are often used to allow the body to be in the most comfortable, supported position possible. Gentle music and guided meditation enhance the calming effects. Restorative Yoga is known for its relaxing and healing effects. It has its roots in the yoga of B.K.S. Iyengar, who developed it to help students practice without any strain or pain. This was further expanded into a whole system of yoga which is considered ideal for those recovering from injuries or illnesses. Restorative yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows the heart rate, regulates the blood pressure and relaxes the body, and is therefore considered particularly beneficial for those suffering from stress-related conditions (including anxiety, insomnia or headaches). Restorative Yoga is also believed to boost the immune system and accelerate the body s natural healing process.

For more information, please contact Krishna - 984 331 2960 & krishnamckenzie@auroville.org.in ----- Solitude was started in 1996 by a group of young Aurovillians. One of them, Krishna Mckenzie, inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka developed the farm with the ideas of Natural farming and permaculture. Much like the rest of Auroville, the land needed tending and care. Fukuoka advocated that all the bio-resources around us, such as leaves, weeds, branches, etc., should constantly be returned to the soil to increase soil fertility. We have come to understand, over the years, that a healthy soil is Mother Earth, and through a deepening of our relationship with Her, we now use over 130 different plants in the food we serve at the café. No pesticides or fertilizers have ever been used on the land. We practice non-tillage and no machines or tractors are used. Every part of this land is honored and respected. Solitude Farm is a true example of Masanobu Fukuoka’s philosophy in practice – a road back to nature through eating local food.

![]() These Hatha Yoga sessions harken back to the roots of the classical form of Yoga, intended for the unity of body and mind. Hatha Yoga is often seen as the yoga of balance and posture, but this specific style is aimed at bringing the body-mind into a focused, calm and composed state, further helping in meditation. Bijou began exploring Yoga in 2014, far away from civilization in the Amazon jungle. This calling led to deeper research into the ancient art, including certification in 2015 (300 hr. Yoga Vidya Gurukul, Nasik). After initiations in Buddhist Meditation, Bijou found a way to incorporate Mindfulness and Yoga. His experience working with people recovering from trauma and substance abuse has enhanced his teaching, which focuses on the meditative and therapeutic aspects of Yoga.

Hatha Yoga is often seen as the yoga of balance and posture, but this specific style is aimed at bringing the body-mind into a focused, calm and composed state, further helping in meditation Bijou began exploring Yoga in 2014, far away from civilization in the Amazon jungle.

07:00 AM
For any class you want to participate, you have to register with me beforehand, by phone/ whatsapp 9489805493 or mail.Ashtanga Yoga classes - Mysore styleClasses every day from Monday to Saturday. No class for full moon and new moon.Taramangaling- 5 min after Botanical Garden - Private classes can be given on request. Contact: 91-9489805493 Or by mail christine@auroville-holistic.com Ashtanga YogaAll students commence their instruction in the same manner in which on the first day of class they are taught Surya Namaskar A, followed by Padmasana and deep breathing, and a few minutes of rest to conclude their first day of practice.

The term ‘rib cage’ may give the impression of something closed, lacking the ability to breathe. But as toddlers, before we learned to walk on two legs, we knew how flexible this part of our body really is, and how pleasurable it is to breathe deeply when the ribs are soft and pliable. Crawling or walking on “all fours" gives the ribs a reminder of this softness, while standing on two feet can diminish this feeling. In this intensive, we will remind ourselves how to roll and breathe like we did when we were toddlers! Nur Bar-Onhas been practicing the Feldenkrais Method since 2010 and became a certified teacher after 3 years of study (2015-18). She has taught in Israel, Germany and Portugal, and likes to assist others in discovering more skillful ways of being in their bodies.
