The economy in Auroville is topical than ever. Pashi Kapoor has just given an interview (in English) about this to Citadyn Center d'Art on January 26, 2017.
Thank you for all your efforts and hard work over the past 2 years to (finally) legally and officially shift the fence between Kalabhumi and Last School to the "correct" location, thus gaining AV land back from encroachement that started more than 20 years ago.
To America University of Paris and her professor Tanya Elder, that brought a fantastic group of students to Auroville. We have the amazing opportunity to work with Serene Obagi in our website design, and Nehal Marahiel that was the fantastic photographer provider of all material that we did not have. THANK YOU!!! Girls. We will never forget both of you.
Thanks to Vinoth , a private taxi driver who drove myself , Wonja and Johanna a German guest coming to Auroville from the airport on 6th December when the entire Tamil Nadu was closed. One of the AV taxi services (we don't know which one) must have contacted some private taxi operator and Vinoth drove all the way from AV/Pondy to pick us up. It was very peaceful ride with no traffic. He charged the normal fare between Chennai and AV. Taxis at the airport quoted ₹2500 for taking us to places within Chennai!
I was just walking on the BN campus on Tues when everything was closed, and was sad to see the Indus Valley place abandoned and neglected-looking. So glad someone is re-opening it, and nice you will do food before auditorium performances. Thank you!
Heartfelt thanks to Raju and Driver Kumar of Aurocabs for the courage in honouring a taxi booking in the night when it was felt dangerous to travel to Channai because of riots.
Understanding the need of somebody flying from abroad who would have known nothing about the situation and would be stranded in the airport of an unknown Indian town, the driver was brave enough to go when nobody else would.
Everything went well in the end, and I appreciate the understanding and heart in this occasion.
